The Giant Olive Closing Gala took place on Saturday 22nd January. 120 invited guests were treated to highlights from Giant Olive’s classics in the pub downstairs, and a dynamic programme in the theatre curated by Antonia Franceschi, including choreography by Richard Alston, Mark Baldwin, Martin Lawrence, Jonathan Goddard with poetry directed by Patsy Rodenburg, and ‘Disco’ from Franceschi’s POP8 featuring Ballet Black.

The scheduled reopening of the Lion & Unicorn Theatre as well as the newly refurbished pub and restaurant downstairs is set for May 2011. Giant Olive’s Founder and Artistic Director, George Sallis, is currently planning the venue's re-launch continuing its “vibrant and varied repertoire”. - Time Out, 2010 |
