Edward Kingham
Front of House Manager
Edward hails from Newcastle, though has both Scottish and Polish blood coursing through his veins. After finishing school with a burning desire to act, he cut his teeth in drama at the Tyneside Youth Theatre Workshop ran by the Live Theatre Co. He also enrolled on a Performing Arts course at Gateshead college. The course covered all aspects of theatre; lights, acting, costume & set design, “I even dabbled in direction, 'Lysistrata', it was terrible”, he says, though would like to try his hand at direction in the future, perhaps for Giant Olive.
After graduating from Gateshead, with Merit, and despite his Fathers' protestations, who always wanted him to follow in his footsteps and become an optician, Edward auditioned for drama schools and was accepted at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama. He graduated from the RSAMD in '97 with the James Bridie Gold Medal & the Hyacinth Havergal Award.
Since then he has appeared on television in series such as 'Touching Evil', 'Heartbeat', 'Gold', 'Extremely Dangerous', 'The Round Tower' and 'A Dinner Of Herbs'.
His theatre credits include; 'Some Voices' for the Live Theatre Co., 'All That Trouble That We Had' for the New Vic Theatre, 'Treasure Island' at the Lyric, Hammersmith, amongst others.
For Giant Olive he has appeared as; The Marquess of Forlipoppolli in 'The Hostess Of The Inn', Ebeneezer Scrooge in the critically acclaimed production of 'A Christmas Carol'. In 'Kitty and Damnation' he had a scene stealing cameo role as the famousĀ Shakespearean actor Edmund Kean. After a brief rest Edward was reunited with Artistic Director Ray Shell to play Fagin in 'Oliver Twist', and most recently flexed his comedy muscles once more in 'The Tulip Wars'.
