Remote Goat Link Reviews | ‘As I gazed down at the still form of my first victim, I experienced a strange, peaceful thrill.’
Christie in Love deals with one of the 20th Century’s most sensational murderers. It presents the story of infamous serial killer, John Christie – his interrogation, conviction and hanging for the horrific murders of six women, including his own wife, at 10 Rillington Place in 1953.
The play asks what motivates such an act of evil? (If, indeed, it is an act of evil at all) and challenges us to understand and sympathise with one of the most notorious killers of the last one hundred years.
Howard Brenton’s plays include the award-winning Pravda (with David Hare) and Weapons of Happiness, as well as Magnificence, The Churchill Play and the notorious Romans in Britain. More recently, his plays include In Extremis at the Globe and the Olivier-nominated Paul at the National.
Thrill Seeker is a new company dedicated to banishing the mundane and the ordinary by presenting challenging and stimulating plays that explore our deepest, darkest desires and question ‘what exactly does it mean to be human?’

"This sixty minute play packs considerable punch; it presents a succession of theatrical surprises that are executed with skill... This is a production that deserves much more exposure than a short run in Kentish Town but meanwhile catch it if you can." Review by Howard Loxton (2009) | |
