NTA Temporary LogoGiant Olive NTA Programme

Building a future for young talent.

Giant Olive is proud to present its next step in establishing a New Talent Academy, in association with the National Theatre ArchiveWoyzeck is the third production in a series of collaborative projects designed to support new artists by offering the opportunity to step into the professional world of theatre after graduation, under guidance of the Giant Olive professional team and the NTA.

The first two projects in Giant Olive’s New Talent programme brought together Giant Olive Theatre Company, the National Theatre Archive and London South Bank University. This enabled LSBU students to put on a very successful run of Lorca's  'Blood Wedding’ and a new piece of writing by Julia O'Boyle. Students were tasked with producing a two-week run in a fringe venue based on their research at the National Theatre Archive. Giant Olive provided a supportive environment and practical advice to help realize this venture.

In February 2010 after the successful run of  Oliver Twist and before Giant Olive’s premiere of  The Tulip Wars, the space has been handed over to Alan Marni and his new company Theatre Mixte, with his production of Buchner’s ‘Woyzeck'. The National Theatre Archive is delighted to see Arabella Wynne-Hughes, a third year student from LSBU, continuing her development with the scheme as Associate Producer for the production.  Theatre Mixte has been given a small budget and the freedom to develop autonomously, with background support from the Giant Olive team.

The Giant Olive team is very excited to be working with and providing a platform for emerging talent.
